HG Contemporary Gallery Announces the Exclusive Representation of 15-year-old Artist Autumn de Forest: First New York City Solo Exhibition on March 1st, 2018
HG Gallery announces the exclusive representation of Autumn de Forest. Since she began painting professionally at the age of 5, Autumn has received global recognition for her paintings, had a solo exhibition at the Butler Museum, met with Pope Francis who had her painting hung in the Vatican and was appointed by the First Lady, Michelle Obama to be part of the President’s Committee on the Arts and Education (now Turnaround Arts a program within The Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts). Autumn’s first New York City solo exhibition will open on Thursday, March 1st, 2018 and run through April 1st, 2018.
Autumn has a rich artistic heritage and family of known and collected 20th century artists, including painters Roy de Forest (American, 1930-2007), Lockwood de Forest (American, 1850-1932) and George de Forest Brush (American, 1855-1941). Her artistic style has been compared to iconic abstract painters including Andy Warhol, Jackson Pollock and Pablo Picasso.
